ONUR AIR BAGGAGE INFORMATION

This is the most discussed topic when it comes to travelling with airlines. Baggage allowance varies from airline to airline, so it’s better to know beforehand what the baggage restrictions of the airline you’re next flying with. 

A Turkish low cost carrier, Onur Air, is based in Istanbul Atatürk Airport. It was founded on April 14, 1992 and for the last 24 years, the company has helped the growth of the Turkish air transport market. The airlines proudly flew more than 85 million passengers both domestic and international since they’ve started and continues to expand as there’s been an increasing demand for low cost travels.

Luggage Allowance and Dimensions

Every person on board the Onur Air planes are allowed only one 8kg hand baggage inside the cabin with a maximum dimension of 25x45x56 cm. 

They also have a special guidelines when carrying gold inside the plane. You can bring in the same hand baggage up to 8kg and with the same dimension of 25x45x56cm. In case that the quantity of gold is more than 8kg, the passenger is required to avail another seat. The passenger have to acquire a second seat, the same as when any musical instrument exceeds the standard 8kg cabin baggage limit.

The check-in baggage allowance given to adults and minors are 15kg on domestic lines and up to 20kg on international lines. The allowable check-in baggage for infants are 10kg on domestic lines and 20kg on international flights. For some instances that you have extra baggage, you are required to pay fees and the total baggage permitted is only up to 40kg. But even though you accept to settle the charges for extra luggage, the airline still has the discretion whether to accept it or not.

Restricted items

As per laws and regulation of the aviation authority, the list are the restricted items for hand carry baggage: Olive oil, molasses, jam, honey, any fluids, munitions, explosives, any type of fireworks, compressed gas, any flammable liquids and solids, irritants, poisons, any corrosives, radioactive elements, any mercury or magnetic material is also not allowed in the hand carried baggage without the prior permission from the airlines. E-cigarettes should be carried inside your hand carry baggage and cannot be checked in for safety reasons. Any sharp objects won’t be admitted inside the cabin and can only be inside the checked in baggage.

Passengers are permitted to carry on liquid items like hand cream, gels, shaving cream, aerosols, perfume, etc. provided that it’s only limited to up to 100ml of volume each item and should be placed inside a 1 liter sealed bag in the carried baggage.

Medicines on the other hand, should have a prescription, medical report and still with its original packaging, Baby formula, will only be allowed if the baby is on board the plane and limited to the amount that the baby can consume during the travel, etc. may be subject to inspection by the personnel but also can be exempted from the list of restricted items on board. 

Domestic flights passengers will be charged of 24EUR for every set of sporting materials that’s considered by the airline with certain characteristics (such as diving equipment, surfboard, skiing gear, and archery equipment). If the luggage was damaged or lost during transit, you are required to contact the lost and found department that will be located at the arrival area and have it reported before leaving the airport.
