Please double-check to make sure you have all of your personal items before leaving the aircraft. Carry-on baggage must be able to be stored completely in an overhead bin or under the seat in front of you. 

First Class passenger is allowed to carry on one personal item as handbag.

There are no possibility to carry on board additional personal item.

Some ways maximum baggage weight could be 32kg/70lb. Its depend on passenger tikcket class and flight destination. Baggage between 23 and 32kg (51–70lb) may incur additional charges depending on your allowance. 

Child is allowed the same as Adult's Free baggage allowance for international and domestic flights.

Infant is allowed one piece up to 115cm/and10kg and 1 stroller and 1 car seat (or bassinet) for international flights and 1 stroller and 1 car seat (or bassinet) for domestic flights.

Korean Air Luggage Rules

So if you are planning to travel using Korean airline, please make sure you do thorough research. Just like pretty much all the airlines there are restrictions when it comes size and weight of the luggage you can carry and you also want to know what all is restricted, to avoid the unnecessary hassle on the airport.

Carry-on luggage

If you are flying first or business class you are allowed two carry-on bags and total weight cannot be more than 40 pounds and if you flying economy class only one carry-on bag is allowed along with it one additional item is allowed like camera, laptop etc and the weight of the bag cannot be more than 25 pounds. Regardless of which class, you are traveling the total dimension of the bag cannot exceed 115 centimeters and the additional bag should not be bigger than 44 inches and cannot weigh more than 22 pounds.

Checked Bags

Checked bags weight and size depends on what type of class you are traveling in or what kind of membership you have and where you are traveling from and where you are traveling to. A prestige class can carry additional bag which should not be more 23 kgs and million miler club member can carry additional bag that weighs up to 32 kgs. Economy class travelers can bring one piece and that cannot weigh more than 23kgs. But in all the cases, dimensions of the bag cannot exceed 62 inches and anything beyond the listed weight and size there are additional charges which are available on the Korean airline's website.

Children’s Luggage

Children’s are also allowed same free baggage facility as adults. The infant is allowed one piece not more than 10kgs in weight and should not be more than 115 cms in size and 1 stroller and 1 car seat is allowed for both domestic and international flights.

Restricted Items

Whatever that has been happening around the world with regards to terrorism, airports and airlines have become super strict about the things you can carry while traveling. So make sure you abide by the list, some items are totally banned like firearms, flammable or combustible items like paint or burners. Other items such knives, nil-clippers are not allowed in your check luggage as well in your carry-on luggage and they also want you to carry all expensive items such as laptops, jewelry and not leave them in checked luggage. Few items are allowed with some restrictions such as personal cosmetic products, airline approved medical items and equipments or personal medical items needed during the flight.

Other Points to take care

It is a better idea to notify the airlines authority in advance if you are traveling with any of your pets or any oversized item so that they can make prior arrangements and you can have a hassle-free trip. They do not charge oversized luggage fees for bikes, diving, and snowboarding equipment but they do however charge oversize fees for surfboards and windsurfing boards. Household pets can be brought on the plane but they must be in the crate approved by the airline authorities. Any pet weighing more than 11 pounds must be checked.
