When traveling on any carrier, prior knowledge of the baggage policy can help you in avoiding last minute disappointments. Furthermore, you can plan effectively fo your journey without worrying whether a given luggage is restricted or might be considered too heavy. Apart from the type of luggage an airline carrier allows, other factors considered include the type of ticket you are traveling on, net weight, and limits of the baggage.

Here you will find a comprehensive summary of baggage policy adopted by Scoot Airlines:

Cabin Baggage
If you are traveling economy class you can have a carry- on bag whose dimensions does not exceed 15 inches in height, 21,3 inches in length, and 9 inches in width. The maximum allowed weight for any cabin baggage is 7kg. This applies to a single small bag as you will not be allowed to carry more than one one bag in the economy class. However, Scoot Airlines allows passengers to carry additional items such as umbrellas, crutches, a sizeable handbag and a laptop of up to 3 kgs. Any sharp or pointed objects that can be used as weapons are restricted onboard.

If you are traveling on the business class, also known as ScootBiz you can enjoy additional options. However, when it comes to the bag dimensions you still have to ensure that your luggage dimensions are still in the range of 15 inches in height, 21, 3 inches in length, and 9 inches in width. If you are a guest in the ScootBiz you can carry a maximum of two bags. However, the maximum weight of the two bags should not exceed 15kgs. In addition, to two of your bags you can still carry a small handbag, and umbrella, and crutches. However, the total weight should not exceed 3kgs. Carrying sharp pointed objects that can be used to injure someone are strictly prohibited.

Check-in Baggage Allowance
If you are traveling on FlyBag/FlyBagEat Class, the dimensions of your luggage should not exceed 62 inches. You should keep in mind that the total length includes the handles and wheels. The minimum and maximum bag weight for check in luggage are 15kgs and 20kgs respectively for this class. You can only carry a maximum of 1 bag.

When you are traveling on ScootBiz class you will be allowed a maximum of two check in bags. The dimensions remain the same as the FlyBag/ FlyBagEat class. However, the maximum weight increases to 30kgs.

If you want to carry excess baggage, then you might need to pay for it when you are checking in. The carrier reserves the right to reject any excess luggage that you carry. Once you check in, you can make the payment using credit card or cash depending on the mode of payment used at your point of departure. You should keep in mind that when you are paying cash you will be required to use the local currency. This will be subject to change depending on local currency exchange rates. The rates charged for excess baggage also vary from time to time and it is important to make calls and find out to avoid last minute disappointments.
